In your reading of Bernhardt, Chapter 1, this week, you encountered Figure 1.1 (p. 4). Examine the nine key components in the left-hand column and assess the degree to which you as well as your current district demonstrate proficiency within each, i.e., are the statements under the “Schools Focused on Compliance for Accountabilty” more accurate or those found under the column “Schools Committed to Using Data for Continuous School Improvement?”
Assign a score of 0-4 for each of the nine components:
0 indicates not present at all
1 represents most of the “Accountability” column statements would be apparent
2 indicates even distribution of statements from both the “Accountability” and “Continuous School Improvement” columns
3 represents most of the “Continuous School Improvement” column statements are demonstrated and
4 indicates that you or your school district completely and consistently demonstrate the “Continuous School Improvement” qualities.
Since there are nine components, the final score may range between 0-36. Please denote the score for yourself as well as your current school district. Delineate the nine individual subscores as well and provide some accompanying context or explanation.
