Assessment Task Description
Following the presentation, each group will prepare an in-depth report expanding on the topics covered in the presentation. The report should provide a thorough analysis, incorporating the theoretical principles and concepts discussed in this unit. Your report must reflect deeper insights into the findings from your presentation, demonstrating a clear understanding of relevant communication frameworks.
Your report must also contain the following elements:
1. Title Page (authors’ names/student numbers, who the report is for, the date submitted, and the word count)
2. Executive Summary/Abstract. (A summary of your main points.)
3. Table of Contents (page numbers must match section headings) – this should be generated in Word
4. Introduction (background, scope of report)
5. Findings (in-depth analysis of your presentation discussion)
6. Discussion (reflection of your findings above with the researched theoretical principles and concepts based on your presentation)
7. Conclusions (a summary of the key discussion points)
8. Reference List (using the APA style guidelines) A minimum of 5 academic references.
The report body must include the following basic formatting:
• Appropriate section and sub-section headings
• A balanced amount of content for each section
• The discussion should progress in a logical order, supported by the correct use of paragraphs
• Correct paper size – A4 with margins set to normal
• Line spacing should be 1.5 with a line after every paragraph.
• The language should be English (Australian)
• Header and footers with report and student details, page numbers.
• Correct in-text citations and end-text references of written and graphical content, where appropriate
Word limit: 1,500 words (+/ 10% of the word count is permissible). The word count does not include the title page, table of contents, reference list or appendices.
Assessment Requirements
You MUST write in your own words.
• You can use the textbook, lecture, and tutorial slides, your notes, and your answers to tutorial exercises, to guide your in-depth analysis of your initial presentation findings. However, your analysis should be written in your own words.
• You can copy and paste “selected excerpts” from the internet provided there are quotation marks and an in-text citation, otherwise you will not receive marks for this and you will be penalised for plagiarism.
• This is a group assessment task, meaning you must complete it. Academic integrity rules apply. Plagiarism and academic misconduct penalties apply.
