Main Idea: Pojman thinks ethical relativism is an untenable ethical system. He further argues that one form of ethical relativism, subjectivism, is a specific but prevalent problem in our society.

Questions:

1. What is ethical relativism (in general) using quotations from Pojman’s text?
2. What is one reason Pojman finds subjectivism (as a particular form of ethical relativism) to be inadequate as a moral system? He lists several, but choose one, using a quotation from his text to support your response.
3. Connect this discussion to a situation in everyday life and show how it appears in our current world.
4. What is your stance on Pojman’s arguments? Do you find yourself acting according to the principles of ethical relativism or do you find Pojman’s arguments against it compelling?
