How has Covid-19 specifically impacted the elderly population? Consider the following: patients
living alone, patients distanced geographically from loved ones, and patients in assisted or total
care homes. What are some specific quality of life (QOL) experiences that may be exacerbated
due to limitations of social interaction due to the virus (e.g. loneliness,
depression)? Additionally, how has the virus impacted the lives of close family members? What
may be some effective counseling strategies when working with these various populations?
For those of you who are practicing clinicians, please share any relevant experiences that you
may have with this.

In one to two pages compare and contrast the two case studies (David, Jonathan) presented to
you in chapter 5 of the Dworkin and Pope text. What were some common themes the therapist
encountered while working with both of these clients? As you reflect, consider personal
lifestyle, social, family/couple, generational, end of life issues, etc. What are a few significant
differences among these two clients? Also, discuss the differences in treatment approach the
counselor used for each one of these clients. Which ones stood out to you as particularly
effective? What would you have done differently if you were the therapist in these situations?

Create 8 test bank questions total for Chapters 9 in Kampf, and Chapters 5 and 6 in Dorkin and
Pope. 6 of the questions should be in multiple choice format (include four answer choices). 2
