Option 2: BitLife – Simulated Personality in a Cultural Context
Directions:
- Download the free BitLife app or visit the website: https://bitlifesimulator.io/Links to an external site.
- Start a new life in a country different from your own.
- Play until your character reaches at least age 40.
- Take 3 screenshots (you will earn a quiz score of '0' if you fail to submit clear, date and time-stamped screenshots):
- Character’s birth or early life
- A major life event or decision
- Your character at age 40+
- Include the two screenshots along with your answers to the below Reflection.
- Answer the questions below in 150–200 words total (responses that total less than 150 or more than 200 words will have points deducted accordingly)
- AI Usage follows the enforcement stated in the course syllabus and the University policies governing Academic Integrity
Reflection Questions:
- How did your character’s kinship system, gender demonstration, and/or gender role shape their decisions, values, or life outcomes?
- Do you think this simulation shows how cultural models of ideal families and socialization are developed across different societies? Briefly explain your answer in your own, original words.
