Assignment: The midterm assignment will comprise of a paper on data integrity and ethics. Data ethics encompasses the moral obligations of gathering, protecting, and using personally identifiable information and how it affects individuals and organizations. This paper (for week four) will require you to provide a written analysis composed of a minimum of five hundred words of the ethics of personal data accumulation, preparation, transmission, and use by others (with and without consent). The essay should be researched against standards of confidentiality, privacy, and dignity (cf. the right to be forgotten) applicable to at least two jurisdictions, one of which must be the U.S. (e.g., the U.S. and the European Union).
