Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
• Evaluate contemporary digital transformations for professionals and service users within the health and care
• Investigate innovative digital technologies and devices and the impact upon communities and populations.
Students are required to investigate one digital innovation (technology/device) that has been successfully implemented within Health and Social Care within the last 10 years. Students must critically evaluate how this digital transformation has been implemented within health or social care with consideration to the following:
• Workforce (consider areas such as changes in job roles, role competency)
• Service delivery (for example, how does the day to day service change?)
• Patient/Service user (how do technologies affect the patient in relation to their perceptions and experiences of their care?)
• Community (consider this in terms of patient and service location, effect on family members, co-production and public health). Students can choose technological innovations from anywhere in the UK and must consider both positive and negative outcomes
