The purpose of this assignment is to discuss how different insurance providers reimburse health care organizations for services.
· For this assignment, you are the nursing administrator at a community hospital providing a training for your unit directors.
· Remember! This is a finance class, and it is all about the numbers., you must have data and number, graph, table to prove what you say.
Prompt:
· Create a 12-14 slide PowerPoint Presentation (excluding the title and reference slides) addressing the following:
· Discuss how Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance reimburse health care organizations. (Please see PDF, it has all the definitions)
· Describe the differences between cost, charge, and payment. (It’s better to use table, graph to explain)
· Explain Diagnostic Related Groups (DRGs) and provide at least two examples. (This is very important! Must have good and clear examples and accurate! The PDF is very helpful!)
· Discuss how insurance reimbursement affects private pay patients (those with no insurance).

· Create speaker notes of 100-250 words for each slide.
· The speech notes must be complete paragraphs with subjects that can be used directly in the speech. Do NOT just write key points without completing the whole speech. And the speech notes must be based on the content of the PowerPoint.
· APA7, Minimum 5 sources and published within the past 5years.
· Make sure the references you cite are relevant to the paragraph! Accuracy!!!
