Imagine that you recently received an unlimited federal grant to open a family program. Drawing on your readings and understanding of key Family Life Education (FLE) principles, outcomes, and goals, design your dream program!

· Name it and develop your mission statement (4-6 sentences) using the FLE program principles, outcomes and goals described in Chapter 6.

· View the article entitled “How to Write Your Mission Statement” from Entrepreneur Magazine and the Developing Program Goals and Measurable Objectives (pdf) ( accessible version ) resource to learn how you can write a quality mission statement.

· Then, create at least two goals and least two outcomes that your organization will achieve.

Malin has a M.S. degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She recently took the CFLE exam, passed it, and provided documented work experience. She is now a CFLE. Malin is conducting a FLE program about sexuality education for young children and their families. There is one LGBT family in the group. Jenka, a mom, states during the session that children only need to learn about where babies come from the old-fashioned way, between a man and a woman, a father and a mother. The LGBT family and other members in the group seem to be uneasy with Jenka’s assertions.

Response to the ethical dilemma and include the following in your response:

· As the facilitator of the group, what are some considerations and implications that Malin needs to think about and what should she do?

· Assess the relationships involved, assess if she has the skills to handle the situation, and if there are any collaborations or resources that might help mitigate or resolve this situation.

· Use the ethical principles from the NCFR Ethical Principles and Guidelines for Family Scientists , Certified Family Life Educators (CFLE) Code of Conduct , and Ethical Standards for HS Professionals to support your response.

· Be sure to cite your sources according to APA formatting.
