Who are your favorite stars, and why do you like them? Stars are a very important element of American film aesthetics. They are also crucial to the economics of the motion picture industry. Film stars express aspects of the culture that produced them, from the aesthetic quality of their photographed faces to the questions of gender, politics, and sociology raised by the popularity of their images.
