Issue or Trend that Impacts Psychiatric Mental Health Practice

General Directions:

1. Select an issue or trend that impacts psychiatric mental health practice. Examples include ethical issues, mental health treatment disparities, substance abuse, recovery, or wellness issues.
2. Select one of the phenomena of concern for psychiatric mental health nurses as described by the American Nurses Association et al. (2022) text on pp. 4-5.

Include the following sections:

1. Application of Course Knowledge: Answer all questions/criteria with explanations and detail.
   1. Describe the issue or trend.
   2. Provide an example from practice.
   3. Discuss how the phenomenon you selected relates to or impacts your selected issue/trend.
2. Engagement in Meaningful Dialogue: Engage peers by asking questions, and offering new insights, applications, perspectives, information, or implications for practice:
   1. Respond to at least one peer.
   2. Respond to a second peer.
   3. Communicate using respectful, collegial language and terminology appropriate to advanced nursing practice.
