1. After copying and pasting the chosen image into a document, you’ll write a 500 word essay IN APA FORMAT that includes the following.
A. Introduction paragraph: Describe the image you chose and why you were drawn to the image. Include a topic sentence in this paragraph that tells your reader what you will be writing about in your body paragraph.
B. Body paragraph: What element(s) of your personality and/or identity does the chosen visual illustrate? Explain HOW the visual captures your beliefs, your trait(s), your perceptions, your identity, etc… Is it a symbolic representation? Is it literal? Is it a combination of both? Is color or lack thereof relevant? There’s lots to consider here – choose your points of explanation thoughtfully and intentionally.
a. Include evidence in your body paragraph: There should be evidence from both the visual you’ve chosen and from your lived experiences to support the “parts” of you that you’re explaining (i.e. The sun comes up each morning, its rays enveloping those who accept its embrace, and while it’s not always easy to be a parent, a student, and an educator, I do my best to rise with joy and to share my joy with all who come within my warmth.)
C. Conclusion Paragraph: How do you hope this image will change or stay the same as you go through your learning journey at Reach? This paragraph should include a closing statement that indicates you have finished writing.
D. In all your writing, your voice matters. Proofread for errors, and NEVER use sentence correctors, modifiers, or suggested rewrites in editing programs like Grammerly. These take away from your voice and put you at risk of AI plagiarism.
