PROJECT: SECURITY POLICY IMPLEMENTATION ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
For this assignment, review and research information assurance policy templates via the SANS policy template site (included under the assignment).
You must use paragraph style and provide a 5-page paper, researching and explaining the key components below that should be included during the development of an information assurance policy. Include these mandatory Level One headers and explain the purpose of each of the following sections:
• Overview
• Purpose
• Scope
• Policy Compliance
• Related Standards
• Terms and Definitions
INSTRUCTIONS
Discuss each component from the above list and the specific information that can be included within each section of the policy. You will need at least 3 robust sentences under each Level One header.
Support your paper with a 5 peer-reviewed journal articles (within the last five years). In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included. Books, websites, and blogs are generally not peer-reviewed.
Length: Minimum of 5 full pages, not including title page(s) and reference pages.
Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
All components must be included in addition to a clear introduction and conclusion . The
introductory paragraph is needed to briefly explain the company chosen and the purpose of the IT Security Policy. A conclusion is required to summarize the policy and the requirements discussed.
The purpose of this paper is to research “how” to write an information assurance policy. It
should read like real guidance you would deliver to a company someday. The citations should be used to give clarity or credibility to a statement you are making. It may be helpful to search the Jerry Falwell Library for scholarly sources that describe what is in an "Information Assurance Policy", "Information Security Plan," or "Information Security Policy."
