: Critique Rehabilitation Efforts
Social workers understand the forms and mechanisms of oppression and discrimination and recognize the extent to which a culture’s structures and values, including social, economic, political, and cultural exclusions, may oppress, marginalize, alienate, or create privilege and power. Prepare a white paper of the main factors responsible for the recidivism of male offenders in the United States. Be sure to include the following:
Explain the problems or issues surrounding male offenders.
Assess the history and its impact on diverse groups of male offenders including the importance of evaluating processes and outcomes to advance practice, policy, and service delivery effectiveness.
Analyze past attempts to resolve related issues for male offenders. Include examples or current events to support your findings.
Identify and describe legislative responses including why social workers value the importance of interprofessional teamwork and communication in interventions, recognizing that beneficial outcomes may require interdisciplinary, interprofessional, and inter-organizational collaboration.
Determine the societal values and the social and economic conditions which you think have contributed to these issues.
Describe current conditions for male offenders, including rehabilitation efforts, and provide implications for forensic social work practice incorporating the principles of logic, scientific inquiry, and culturally informed and ethical approaches to building knowledge.
Support your assignment with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.
