General Guidance

  • Presentations should include a reference list – this may appear as a slide(s) at the end of the presentation. References should be formatted using APA (find guidelines here).
  • Please allow plenty of time prior to submission in case you run into technical difficulties.
  • Pay attention to all elements of the question: identify, describe, analyse, and recommend.
  • There are a number of ways that you may choose to structure your presentation. For example, you might choose a specific neuropsychological assessment tool (e.g. a cognitive test, a neuroimaging technique, etc.) and present a specific challenge around this.
  • Alternatively, you might choose to present on a more general challenge relevant across an array of assessment tools.
  • Make sure your presentation is well structured – all presentations should have a clear introduction, clear challenge identification and description, a clear analysis of the challenge backed-up by literature, a clear recommendation of how this challenge might be addressed based on empirical research, and a strong conclusion that ties everything together.
  • There should be a focus here on critical analysis. Address both sides of the argument and acknowledge all viewpoints around your chosen challenge.  An excellent presentation will display a deep understanding of the nuances of their chosen challenge, beyond simple description.  Don’t be afraid to take a strong stance – just make sure that stance is backed up by evidence.

Instructions on how to record and upload your presentation can be found in a separate document.
