Please identify and read a scientific paper or review article related to the Nervous System and/or Muscular System. In particular, the paper must address a medical condition related to the selected organ system and must cover a medical treatment or procedure (whether in pre-clinical investigation*, in clinical trial, or already FDA approved). The assignment will be to summarize the selected article in a minimum of eight to ten grammatically correct sentences. Make sure to clearly explain the medical condition, its etiology, prognosis, and how the medical treatment or procedure serves to treat the condition. The article, and therefore the summary, must include at least some terminology covered in lecture. For example, if the selected article is about a medical treatment for Multiple Sclerosis, the summary must include, if applicable, the use of stem cell-derived oligodendrocytes (which we cover in lecture) to remyelinate the CNS. While you may use websites like WebMD to support your summary, the scientific paper or review article must be from either a scientific journal (e.g., Nature, Cell, Science) or from a website such as Science Daily or Nature Reviews that directly summarizes/reviews the scientific article.
