- Differentiate descriptions of sounds from section to section, especially larger forms such as a “chorus” (a full AABA section).
- Not all sections sound alike; you are not expected to use high-academic musical terminology; “laymans” terms will suffice for this assignment!
- You should fill in each box with some form of information requested. Although some larger sections (choruses) may have some of the same instrumental information (though their roles may change from section to section), comments regarding sound color, texture, etc. should be different from one cell to another. Information simply copied/pasted will not be considered.
- This is an opportunity for you, the listener to analyze and write about the sounds you are hearing based on what you have learned thus far in the course. The listening guides studied during the first 3-4 weeks should be a guide for what types of musical commentary content you could supply .
