The purpose of this assignment is to analyze a social work issue relevant to clients and examine a theoretical framework that supports intervention for that issue. The paper will evaluate the selected theory’s application, strengths, and limitations in addressing the identified problem within social work practice.
Each student will select a social work issue (of particular relevance to clients with whom the student works or with whom they seek to support in the future). They will prepare a paper analyzing the theory that provides a foundation for the issue. This 8-10-page paper (10 pages including cover page and reference page) will be written according to APA 7 style. It is worth 100 points.
At least 4 different sources of information must be used in your paper (feel free to use more than 4). Two of the sources must be peer reviewed journal/research articles. You are also encouraged to use the textbook as a source of information.
Students are encouraged to contact a subject librarian if they need assistance selecting literature to support points being made. The paper must include an overview of the selected topic as well as an overview of the theory that will serve as the foundation for intervention. You will discuss why the particular theory was selected and how the theory will be applied. You will also discuss the strengths and limitations of using that theory.
The paper should contain the section headings below (reworded) and answer the questions asked in each section (please do not use the bullet points of each question within the paper. Questions should not be listed as subheadings – these are simply indicating what should be addressed in each section). Answer the questions in the format of an academic paper, elaborating on them and adding additional information as appropriate. Please define and explain all key terms/concepts used.
