Things to keep in mind while writing:
Identify the typical American diet for the reader. Describe the foods that make up the typical diet along with what influences our choices.
Consider in your discussion the effects of parenting, media, advertising, supply, availability, location, and/or pricing on the choices Americans makes. Provide a detailed descriiption of how the culture that surrounds us shapes our choices. Be specific. Use concrete language to help draw your reader in to the conversation.
Consider also providing an emotional (abstract) descriiption. How do we as a society feel about food? How do these feelings translate into our choices? What leads you to believe this?
Provide examples and in-depth discussion.
Each paragraph should have a topic sentence, the body of the paragraph should adhere to your topic sentence, and there should be smooth transitions between paragraphs.
Include at least three quotes from either Birch and Doub’s article and/or Emond, et. al’s article within your discussion.
Correctly cite sources within your text.
Your paper should be grammatically correct. The suggested length for this section within the completed project: 2 – 3 pages.
