Choose a healthcare policy issue – local, state, national, or international. There are many to choose from such as licensure; management of emerging epidemic diseases; to immunize or not to immunize; policies of the United Nations related to Healthcare in nonindustrial nations; lack of mental health care; medical marijuana use; increased risk of workplace violence/injuries for healthcare providers, domestic violence, etc. Feel free to use a current topic/issue impacting healthcare. Do not choose a subject that is too broad to be manageable, i.e. Health reform Research the issue carefully. You do not need to use only nursing sources. Look at the medical, social science, and other sources as well. The references must be professional websites and/or professional/peer-reviewed journals.
Write a 6-8 page paper (including title page and references) exploring the health policy issue you have selected. Discuss the background and implications of the issue. Look at proposals to solve the problem. Briefly state your own position on the issue. You should have at least 6 references in addition to the textbook, but you should use as many as necessary to develop your paper. Use APA style and referencing.
