This lab is worth no (zero) points. It provides instructions for getting started with Hofstra’s Pride Desktop, which is what you need to do so that you can do GIS labs on your own computer.
If you are working from anywhere other than a Hofstra computer lab, you’ll need this to do be able to work on lab 1.
LAB 0 DIRECTIONS^
LAB 1
If you are working on your own computer, complete lab 0 first.
To start this lab:
Go to the lab 1 assignment on Canvas. Click the “Start Assignment” button.
Download 060_lab1_10.zip Download 060_lab1_10.zip (The lab materials) from Canvas to a computer with ArcGIS software or an instance of the Pride Desktop.
Move the lab materials from the downloads folder to your network drive. Look under This PC=>studentstorage.recource.hofstra…H: (also explained in the lab 1 instructions pdf file)
Unzip the lab materials (right-click, Extract all…) (also explained in lab 1)
Follow the instructions on the .pdf file
Answer the questions on the .docx file
When you’re done, go to the lab 1 Canvas assignment, upload the completed answers .docx file and click the submit assignment button. Only .doc, .docx, and .pdf files will be accepted.
