This assignment is intended to allow you to show evidence of achievement of:
CLO 2: Explain and demonstrate the use of selected computer research tools.
CLO 4: Differentiate between types of research designs.
CLO 5: Explain selected methods of data analysis.
CLO 6: Analyze the components of the research process in selected research articles.
CLO 7: Critique selected nursing research studies in relation to nursing practice application.
Requirements:
Based on the type of research study being analyzed, use either the chart for a Quantitative/Qualitative research study or the chart for a Systematic Review/Meta-Analysis to answer the questions about the research study and evaluate its strengths or weaknesses related to your PIO/PICO topic. Submit the completed chart and a PDF of the research study to the dropbox by the due date.
To be successful with this assignment, complete these steps:
Use a database search to find a research study related to your PIO/PICO topic. The research study may be quantitative, qualitative, or a systematic review or meta-analysis.
Read the research article then evaluate it using the questions on the appropriate chart.
Answer questions in your own words (not copied from the article)
Evaluate the study based on its applicability to your PIO/PICO question and whether it was sufficiently rigorous to answer the question posed by the researchers.
Submit the Chart AND a PDF of the research study.
Your grade will be based on the percentage received out of 60 points.
