Topic

Using James Joyce’s “Eveline” as your primary source, write a love letter from

  1. Eveline to Frank,
  2. Frank to Eveline, or
  3. Eveline to her father (daughter to father not romantic love).

Requirements
1. MLA style with Times Roman, 12 pt., double spacing.
2. Minimum 250 words. Maximum 300 words.
3. One primary source. You may use secondary sources, but you are not required to.
4. Use first person and an argumentative topic sentence.

This is a love letter, so it should look like a love letter—with “Dear So and So, … ” and perhaps you might end it with “Love, … ” Or maybe not. Be creative.

Instructions
1. Submit the first draft to Upswing and post the electronic file in Turn-It-In (Canvas ▷ Writing Assignment 1) before the deadline.
2. Conduct two peer reviews in Turn-It-In (Canvas ▷ Writing Assignment 1 – peer review). Use the peer review checklist available in the system.
3. In the final version, address all feedback received from both Upswing and peer review. Post the electronic file in Turn-It-In (Canvas ▷ Writing Assignment 1 – final) before the deadline.

  1. Post the outline and the Upswing report on Discussion.
