Kirk and Okazawa-Rey use the terms “micro”, “meso”, and “macro” levels of an individual’s social identity. How does age and/or ability influence privilege and power at each of these levels? How does privilege or its absence affect an individual’s daily existence? How do social institutions influence power and privilege based upon age and/or ability? How does the legal system create and enforce or deny privilege based on age and/or ability? How does intersectionality (e.g. gender, race, class) influence the power, privilege, or marginalization caused by age and/or ability?
