Description and background of the assignments
You and your group choose 2 companies from the list. You can also make your own choice, the company must be listed or must belong to a listed group.
You will follow these companies up during the course. You will then receive assignments to apply the theory to these companies on the basis of self-selected (scientific) articles, publications, news feeds, SEC filings, annual accounts, etc. The topics are the following:
1. The finance function and Corporate Governance (group assignment)

3. Working capital management (individual assignment)

Individual Assignment

Question
Choose one of your selected companies
Calculate the ratios
1) return on equity
2) net profit margin
3) debt to equity
with the data from the last 3 published annual reports
Give your detailed calculations and the data they are based on.
Explain the contents of these ratios and give your opinion on the strength/weakness of the given outcome
2. Working capital management

Choose one of your selected companies
1) Investigate the evolution of the accounts receivables, inventories and cash/cash equivalents in the last 3 years. Use the published annual accounts for your research
2) Describe the causes of increase/decrease of the working capital compared to the total revenue/sales, and the impact on the cash conversion cycle
