Your written assignment is to submit a paper on the topic below. - Once you have identified an agency, you must also interview an employee from that agency in an effort to gain as much insight into their services as possible.
Some questions to consider asking include:
- Identify all services that are provided.
- Do they provide referrals to other entities for services that they do not provide?
- What are their most commonly provided services?
- Is there a fee structure associated with their services?
- What are their funding sources?
- Are staff members paid or volunteer status?
- Describe the organizational structure of the agency.
- Do their services extend to the children, families, and acquaintances of the victims?
- Are resources available 24/7 and do they include shelter and protection when needed?
- Do they interact with law enforcement and if so, in what capacity?
- What are their confidentiality policies?
- Do they provide long-term, extended services beyond case disposition?
- These are just a few areas to consider for your interview, but they are in no way the only questions and topics of discussion for your inquiry. The bottom line is to provide a thorough and comprehensive summary of the agency.
- After you have completed your appraisal of their operations, provide a conclusion regarding your view of the effectiveness of their services.
