The K-12 Standards for Mathematical Practice describe various skills that educators should seek to develop in students. These standards describe student behaviors, help to ensure an understanding of math, and focus on developing reasoning and building mathematical communication. Incorporating the eight Standards for Mathematical Practices (or as many as you can) into lessons not only helps students develop certain skills, but it also helps to ensure learning is happening on a deeper level and in a meaningful way.
Part 1: Digital Presentation
Your principal has tasked you to create a professional development on the eight mathematical practices for the teachers at your K-8 school. Grade level K-3 to gear your presentation towards. Focusing on the mathematics domain “Operations and Algebraic Thinking,” create a 12 slide digital presentation for your teacher peers Your presentation should include the following:
