ASSESSING THE HEALTH LITERACY LEVEL OF HEALTH EDUCATION MATERIALS
Carson, the community health educator from Assignment 1, has finished creating his poster on the importance of sleep for high school students. He is unsure of the reading level of the health education material that he created. How can he assess the reading level of his poster to ensure it is appropriate for his target audience?
Along with understanding the health literacy levels of your target population, it is also important to assess the readability of health education materials. For this assignment, you will select a piece of health education material. This may be an infographic, website, toolkit, pamphlet, poster, fact sheet, or video. You will then evaluate the health education materials and write a summary of your results.

After assessing the health education material, write a two-three page paper including the following:
Describe the health education material selected.
Summarize the assessment given and results.
Explain the importance of health literacy in improving health outcomes.
Derive two ways to improve health literacy.
Use a minimum of two references to support your analysis.
