ASSESSING PERSONAL BIAS
Bias is a result of our environment and background. We often make quick judgments about people without even knowing it. Bias can affect our attitudes and behaviors towards others. If we work in health education, bias can negatively impact the way we treat our patients. The first step in changing bias is to accept that you have it.
The next step is to assess your own personal biases so you can begin to improve those areas. Please note while assessing your unconscious bias, there may be some sensitive topics within this activity.

For this assignment, you will be assessing your own personal bias. Complete the following:

Complete the assessment
After completing the assessment and reviewing your results, write a two to three page paper including the following:
Explain if you were surprised by these results and your rationale.
Describe two ways to reduce unconscious bias.
Use at least one reference to support your work.
