Examination Misconduct

(Excerpt from Item 28, UTM Graduate Studies Rules and Regulations)

1. A student is suspected of misconduct during examination if:

a. Giving, receiving or possessing notes or some other materials in various forms relevant to the course during the examination inside and outside of exam hall

OR

b. Using the information stated above for the purpose of answering exam questions

OR

c. Cheating or attempting to cheat or behaving inappropriately during examination

OR

d. Other misconduct set by the University.

2. If the student is found guilty of misconduct by the Faculty Academic Committee and pending the approval of the Senate, the student can be penalized as follow:

a. Receive a ZERO (0) mark for the examination

OR

b. Receive a ZERO (0) mark for the course

OR

c. Receive a ZERO (0) mark for all registered courses for the semester

OR

d. Suspended from study for a duration specified by the Senate.

Section A: 100 MARKS

Question 3: Big Data Processing & Analytics Justification

Management asks whether to use traditional RDBMS, NoSQL, or distributed big data platforms.

Tasks:

(b) Recommend suitable data technologies for each.

(c) Justify why a single database solution is insufficient.

(d) Explain how integration across platforms enables holistic insights.

❖ Focus on “why” decisions are made, not just “what” tools are used.

Requirements

Report must be type written with Times New Roman font size 12 and 1 ½ spacing. For references use Author (Year) format. Put in suitable headings, table of content, Figures and Table numbered from 1 onwards. Report must be of current   academic  standards  (also refer to journal papers/conference proceedings). The number of pages of text must not exceed 25 pages. You must submit to Turnitin for checking and zero marks will be awarded if found plagiarized.

Make sure turnitin similarity index is < 20%.
