Professional Publication Manuscript Assignment Instructions
Using the research topic of personal interest that you identified in Discussion: Research Topic, develop a complete manuscript for possible submission for publication to the professional journal you selected in the Publication Manuscript: Journal Selection Assignment.
You must follow the author submission guidelines (i.e., style, number, type of references, etc.) for the journal you choose. Do not actually submit the article for publication unless the course instructor’s feedback directs you to do so.
Your manuscript should follow a literature review or position paper-type approach, demonstrating depth and breadth of topic knowledge and highlighting what is known and not known on the topic. Key points must be concisely summarized with balance, clarity, and relevance. Your writing should be grounded in the research literature with relevant citations and legitimate information to create a clearly supported critique and thoughtful, focused, in-depth analysis of the topic. Also address potential applications of what you have learned to the field (which could include suggestions for future research). Please remember that you are not writing a research proposal but, rather, a literature review or position paper based on the research literature.
Your manuscript should be a minimum of 2,500 words (not including the title and references pages). You may use your previous work in this course as a foundation for your professional publication manuscript, but this paper should be sufficiently original and reworded so as to avoid self-plagiarism.
Review the Professional Publication Manuscript Grading Rubric before submitting your manuscript, and follow all writing expectations in the rubric.
First, submit a draft of your manuscript to the Professional Publication Manuscript Draft Assignment submission link to check for plagiarism and self-plagiarism. Make revisions as necessary, and then re-submit the assignment with the final version of your work to the Professional Publication Manuscript Assignment submission link. Feedback from the instructor will not be provided on the draft. The draft link is simply for you to use to ensure originality and proper attribution.
Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
