Inside America’s For-Profit Bail System
Across the United States, millions of people are held in jail before trial, not because they have been convicted, but because they cannot afford bail. Private bail bond companies step in to post bail for a fee, creating a system where freedom often depends on financial means. The video examines how this industry operates and how it affects both defendants and the criminal justice system.
After watching the video, respond in at least 200 words to the following questions:
